This is a great project to spend afternoon with your child, making sweet mosaic coaster set.
You will need following materials:
- Round coaster, 4″, two
- Cobblestones Lights, 1 pkg
- Blue colorant
Tools:
Basic supplies:
- latex gloves
- paper towels
- newspaper or kraft paper
- container of water
- black marker
- Measuring cup and spoon
- mixing bowl
- soft cloth
Step 1:
Cover work area with newspaper or kraft paper. sort out blue, sparkle blue, white and white sparkle tiles.
Step 2:
Arrange white and white sparkle tiles to make snowflake with 1/2 space in between for grout lines. start from center and work out. Fill in background with blue and sparkle blue tiles.
Step 3:
When satisfied with layout, glue tiles to base. Allow to dry based on glue drying time.
Step 4:
Mix 1 tbsp blue colorant with 1 1/2 tbsp. water in mixing bowl. Add 1/4 cup of white grout and mix to peanut butter consistency using stick.
Step 5:
Smooth grout over tile and fill crevices. Remove excess grout with gloved hand. Let set for 10 min.
Step 6:
Use damp sponge or paper towel to remove grout haze. Let it set overnight. When completely dry, buff with soft cloth.
